Weekly ATUM 32
Gateway 07; The Chariot, Spirit Bath, Touba, Peacocks, Rose Quartz. The Blueprint, Onion and Potato, Sadhana 1/98.
Each element of this was card was deeply woven throughout my personal week. As we approach the full moon and the sacred waters of Cancer season, I hope what follows offers some resonance, remembrance, and makes your spirit sing.
Eid Mubarak; Tua Ntr 𓆸
Cancer
The cardinal water sign, marks the height of light in the northern sky. As the Sun reaches its most elevated point at the summer solstice, Cancer ushers in the peak of earthly growth and emotional ripening. Symbolized by the crab, it teaches us to move with both sensitivity and protection—to lead from the heart while honoring our need for sacred space.
Ruled by the Moon, Cancer is deeply attuned to the rhythms of feeling, memory, and ancestral care. This sign governs the home, the womb, and the waters of life—inviting us into emotional depth, nourishment, and intuitive wisdom.
Nebt-Het
In the temple mysteries of Kemet, Cancer aligns with Nebt-Het (Nephthys), the quiet guardian of sacred space. Sister of Auset and shadow twin of light, Nebt-Het presides over liminal realms—birth, death, and the initiatory spaces between. She is the nurse of Heru and the veiled priestess who prepares the body of Asar for rebirth.
Though often working in the background, her role is vital: to safeguard sacred acts and protect the soul as it crosses from one state of being to another. She stirs second sight, precognitive dreams, and heightened perception—gifting us with the ability to feel the unseen and walk between worlds.
In this season, Nebt-Het reminds us that caretaking is an act of spiritual power, and that initiation often begins in silence, under the cloak of the mother.
Continued from Medu Neter; In her (Het-Hru) role as the imaginative faculty she is Nebt-Het, the Lordess of the House. This house, of course, is the spirit. This can be easily understood from the fact that all spiritual work must be carried out through the concentration on images in a state of trance…
Whoever remembers this formula, observes Maat, follows Tehuti, and identifies with Ausar, will achieve all her needs in heaven and on earth.
The Moon
Ruler of Cancer, governs tides—both oceanic and emotional. In ancient Kemet, the Moon was considered the reflector of Ra’s light, bringing the mysteries of the night to life. It ruled over healing, fertility, dreamwork, and the feminine arts of timing, divination, and intuitive navigation.
Through her waxing and waning, the Moon teaches us cyclical wisdom. She governs the body of light—the ka—and nurtures its development through rest, reflection, and ritual. Her silver glow invites us inward, where the heart speaks in symbols and the soul receives its instructions.
Under the Moon’s gaze, we become fertile ground for transformation. Feelings rise to be honored. Visions emerge to be followed. It is here that the mysteries of Nebt-Het and the waters of Cancer converge—inviting us to soften, receive, and remember the power of what is quietly growing within.
Fourth House: Home, Family, Childhood
In astrology, Cancer rules the Fourth House—the deepest part of the natal chart, known as the imum coeli, or "bottom of the sky." It represents our roots, our ancestral lineage, and the emotional imprint of home.
This is the house of the Great Mother, where we return for nourishment, safety, and remembrance. It governs our private life, inner child, and the foundation upon which all outer expressions are built. Just as Nebt-Het guards the threshold, the Fourth House guards the soul’s innermost temple—the place we retreat to in order to restore and realign.
To tend this house is to tend the sacred fire of belonging, and to honor the quiet soil from which all growth arises.
*Learning about your fourth house is the key to undertaking any inner-child healing work you might need, since this is a highly sensitive point in your chart.
Home and family, the father, end of life, childhood, emotional security, psychological foundation, origin, heritage, private life, wells, property and real estate.
Key 07: The Chariot
Conquest of mind over emotions. A Triumph, a breakthrough, an inventive solution.
The Fool learns the power of his own conviction and establishing free-will.
It is only when we become still, quiet and receptive that we can be victorious. Then the primal force can work through us.
Cancer, symbolized by the crab has a fence or shell which protects its soft body from the dangers of the outer world. During a 7 cycle, one is sequestered away from the world in some manner, as the crab, Cancer, withdraws into its protective shell to ponder recent experiences and examine them subconsciously (moon).
Things to consider:
What am I most passionate about?
How well is this being represented in my life?
Are there changes I need to make to align more fully with my Truth?
What self-care rituals help nourish and refresh me?
I trust that I am supported by my loved ones.
I choose to remain heart-centered in my approach to life.
I am always Home when I connect within.
