Scarab
Symbol of self-creation, resurrection and rebirth, the scarab is a messenger of eternity, letting you know that fate and destiny are always at work in your life. Destiny is comprised of the choices you make, while fate is woven by your reactions to events and circumstances.
This suit contains the power of the zodiac, their qualities, elements and planetary rulers. While first instinct is to think of which person this card may relate to, always consider the number, the astrological house, the season, as well as how this zodiac or planet appears in your personal chart.
The Houses describe a journey of human development throughout our lives— different fields of experience, not the specific experience themselves. The first half the wheel focuses on the self, and the second half extends our awareness out into the world around us.
Just as each Scribe card rules an entire season, each Ace rules an entire element. The power inherent in the Ace corresponds to all the manifestations of an element. Thus, the Ace of Scarabs corresponds to the entire element of Fire and rules fire signs; Leo, Sagittarius and Aries.
Khepera · Transformation · Evolution · Metamorphosis · Renewal
Indigenous to the nile valley, epitomizes the actions of Khepri, the solar principle in its daily rhythm of coming forth from the eastern horizon, transformation and unceasing renewal.
Its life cycle is a metaphor of the transformative processes in nature that are brought forth by the Sun, which quickens the life force on Earth.
Brings quintessence into the space / as above, so below.
Khepri is a creature of water and fire, as he has an association with both remote, cosmic life and Earthly life in the rhythms of the Nile and the Sun.
I am that which comes into being, in the form of Khepri.
I become the creator of what comes into being,
And that which has come into being.
After my coming into being, many were the things
That came forth into being from my mouth.
Earth
Our physical experience, journey, and present lifetime. Its symbol represents the experience in general— set in the circle of infinite potentiality.
Key 0 (and 22): The Fool (before and after)
Out of the womb and into the world without knowledge of what positive and negative experiences are. They are still being molded into who they are meant to be. Pure essence, Naive, Childlike, Free and Connected to Spirit.
A choice is offered. Freedom, fearlessness. Beginnings, Innocence, clear conscience.
The master number 22 holds a unique position in the tarot. Theoretically, the major arcana begins at key 1 and continues through key 21. The minor arcana begins at 23 and continues on to 78. The Fool, as key 0, stands by itself, representing the God force. 22 would seem to be missing; however, since cyclicity is the essence of life, there can be no ending.
Therefore, key 0 is the life force before entering manifestation, and 22 is that same fool, having walked the 21 keys of the major arcana to complete that full cycle and step once more beyond the present incarnation.
22 is an ancient numerical symbol for a circle and therefore represents the alpha and omega.
Every genius is called a fool at some time. the fool is the super conscious, pictured as having room to take one more step. this indicates we never come to the limit of our potentials.
The fool here is the cosmic life force about to descend, inexperienced, into the world of manifestation.
Astrological Correspondence: Earth and Uranus — (wasn’t uranus doing a thing on monday and tuesday? squaring mercury and then the sun) since the master number 22 reduces to a 4 — the earth holds dominion in this vibration, coupled with uranus, which is assigned to key 0. Consciousness is a state of mind. A blending of spiritual conscious awareness with the proper use and control of the world’s material offerings, including the body itself, gives the perfect state of being. Once this has been achieved, the individual is no longer bound by earthly considerations but merely uses them with reverence and respect.
Just this afternoon, returning home with my children from school, we paused to let our neighbor pass on his moto as the path is quite narrow and a river passes just alongside it. They began chatting about our geckos (as always) and I noticed amongst his jewelry — a giant golden scarab on his wrist.
The cards remain undefeated.
