Weekly ATUM 11
The fire and the rain. As above, so below. As within, so without... Sadhana Day 11
Just a reminder, that I recorded the order of these weekly cards for the entire year ahead back in October 2024. When this week began, I truly thought it was going to be about smudging and purifying, ourselves and new living space (and did) — yet by mid-week it became clear what this card was reflecting.
ETHER / QUINTESSENCE
Pure spirit. Binds creator and the created together, ensuring unity and affinity throughout the phenomenal worlds. The vibrational field that unites all the elements; symbolized by the unique humming of the scarab’s wings.
The essence of emptiness. It is the space the other elements fill. It's qualities are based more upon the absence of its opposing quality than on the actual quality itself.
The element of Spirit: ABOVE/BELOW
Heka 𓆚 magic, creative impulse, tehuti, dark moon, present, enlightenment.
Source, psyche, soul, outer space, inner space, infinity, cosmic intelligence, Deity, consciousness, psychic energy, Beingness, intention, design.
Goddess images, statues, paintings, etc. Crystals and gems, smoke, prayers, chants, mantras, mandalas, feathers, music. Divination tools: tarot images, mirror, crystal ball, scrying bowl, runes, etc. Lights and crystals, sparkles. All Goddesses… Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Sugalite, Devas, fairies, ghosts, spirits and djinn.
SMUDGE
Dispel all impurities, negative energy and bad vibes from your sacred space. Raise the vibrations. Reset or clear your sacred tools by smudging them with sacred herbs or resins to wash off the outside world and invite fresh positive energy for ceremony. Follow with the sweet essence of pure essential oils on your divine temple or wafting through your sacred space.
Khepri
Indigenous to the nile valley, the scarab epitomizes the actions of Khepri, the solar principle in its daily rhythm of coming forth from the eastern horizon, transformation and unceasing renewal.
Its life cycle is a metaphor of the transformative processes in nature that are brought forth by the Sun, which quickens the life force on Earth.
Brings quintessence into the space / as above, so below.
Khepri is a creature of water and fire, as he has an association with both remote, cosmic life and Earthly life in the rhythms of the Nile and the Sun.
Be The Truth
Becomes Her Vision | 13th moon cycle
You taught me how to give away
My fear of becoming the dream,
Showing me how to walk my truth,
Reclaiming self-love and esteem.

The photo on this card was taken in 2021 from the island of Ngor, looking back at the coast of Dakar, Senegal.
This feels slightly reminiscent of a coastline that was deeply deeply smudged this week by a spiritual wildfire.
On the island of Bali, it has been raining more than ever, all the locals are commenting that they haven’t seen this much rain in years.
Even the pour painting from the first edition carries the energy of water and fire.
In the metu neter at the top of the card is Aker; a pair of twin lions, one named Duaj (meaning “yesterday”) and the other Sefer (meaning “tomorrow”). “He who's looking forward and behind”.
2025 will be one for the books.
What is spirit showing us? or rather, asking us to see.
Today as I write this weekly review is the 11th day of the moon, known as Ekadashi in sanskrit—a day of self-purification, spiritual progress, and harmony.
In many spiritual traditions it is a day to devote to meditation, fasting, and clearing the mind. A day to burn the karmas of the past.
I noticed again the altars in Bali overflowing with offerings, and despite the pouring rain could still smell the incense burning all around us.
